Return and Exchange Policy
Return and Exchange Policy
Ridgeborne wants customers to be satisfied with their purchase. This Return and Exchange Policy explains the conditions, procedures, and limitations that apply to returns, exchanges, refunds, and defective or incorrect items purchased from the Ridgeborne website.
By placing an order with Ridgeborne, customers acknowledge and agree to the terms of this Return and Exchange Policy.
1. Return and Exchange Window
Customers may request a return or exchange within 30 days from the date the order is delivered.
Return or exchange requests submitted after the applicable return period may not be accepted, unless otherwise required by applicable law.
2. Return Eligibility
To be eligible for a return or exchange, the item must meet all of the following conditions:
-
The item must be unused, unworn, unwashed, and in original condition.
-
The item must be clean and free from dirt, stains, odors, pet hair, or signs of wear.
-
The outsole must show no visible wear, scuffing, or outdoor use.
-
The item must be returned with its original packaging, tags, accessories, inserts, and any included materials.
-
The customer must provide valid proof of purchase or order information.
-
The return or exchange request must be approved before the item is sent back.
Shoes may be tried on indoors on a clean surface to check size and fit. Items showing signs of extended wear, outdoor use, damage, alteration, or improper handling may not be eligible for return or exchange.
3. Items Not Eligible for Return or Exchange
The following items are not eligible for return or exchange, unless they are defective, damaged upon arrival, incorrect, or otherwise required to be accepted under applicable law:
-
Items that have been worn outdoors
-
Items with visible wear, creases, stains, scratches, odors, or damage caused by the customer
-
Items that have been washed, repaired, modified, or altered
-
Items returned without original packaging or required accessories
-
Items marked as final sale, clearance, or non-returnable
-
Gift cards or store credit
-
Customized or personalized products
-
Items returned without prior approval
-
Items that cannot be matched to a valid order
Ridgeborne reserves the right to refuse a return or exchange if the returned item does not meet the conditions stated in this policy.
4. Return Process
To request a return or exchange, customers should contact Ridgeborne customer support through the contact method provided on the website.
The request should include:
-
Order number
-
Customer name
-
Email address used for the order
-
Item name or SKU
-
Reason for return or exchange
-
Photos of the item, if the item is damaged, defective, incorrect, or otherwise in dispute
After reviewing the request, Ridgeborne will provide return instructions if the request is approved. Customers should not send items back before receiving return authorization.
Returns sent without prior authorization may be refused, delayed, or returned to the customer at the customer’s expense.
5. Return Shipping Costs
For returns or exchanges due to size selection, style preference, change of mind, or other customer-related reasons, the customer is responsible for return shipping costs.
If the item received is defective, damaged upon arrival, or incorrect due to an error by Ridgeborne, Ridgeborne will provide a reasonable solution, which may include replacement, exchange, refund, or return shipping assistance, depending on the circumstances.
Original shipping fees, expedited shipping charges, shipping protection fees, import duties, taxes, customs charges, and other third-party fees are generally non-refundable, unless required by applicable law or unless the return is caused by Ridgeborne’s error.
6. Exchanges
Exchanges may be requested for a different size, color, or style, subject to product availability.
If the requested exchange item is unavailable, Ridgeborne may offer one of the following options:
-
Exchange for another available item
-
Store credit
-
Refund to the original payment method
-
Other reasonable solution agreed with the customer
If the exchange item has a different price, the customer may be required to pay the price difference, or Ridgeborne may refund the difference, as applicable.
An exchange item will normally be shipped after the original item has been received and inspected.
7. Refunds
Once a returned item is received, Ridgeborne will inspect it to determine whether it meets the return conditions.
If the return is approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method used for the order. Refund processing times may vary depending on the payment provider, bank, or card issuer.
Ridgeborne is not responsible for delays caused by banks, payment processors, or financial institutions after the refund has been issued.
If a return is rejected after inspection, Ridgeborne may notify the customer and provide available options. The customer may be responsible for any shipping cost required to send the item back.
8. Damaged, Defective, or Incorrect Items
Customers should inspect their order promptly after delivery.
If an item arrives damaged, defective, or incorrect, the customer should contact Ridgeborne customer support as soon as possible and provide clear photos showing the issue, together with the order information.
Ridgeborne will review the case and may offer a replacement, exchange, refund, repair guidance, or another appropriate solution depending on the nature of the issue.
Damage caused by normal wear and tear, improper use, accidental damage, neglect, exposure to extreme conditions, unauthorized repair, or failure to follow care instructions is not considered a manufacturing defect.
9. Size Issues
Customers are encouraged to review the size guide carefully before placing an order.
If the shoes do not fit, customers may request an exchange within the return and exchange window, provided that the shoes remain unused, unworn, clean, and in original condition.
Ridgeborne is not responsible for size selection errors, but will make reasonable efforts to assist customers with eligible exchanges where possible.
10. Lost or Delayed Return Packages
Customers are responsible for safely shipping returned items until the return package is received by Ridgeborne or the designated return facility.
Ridgeborne recommends using a trackable shipping service and keeping the shipping receipt until the return has been processed.
Ridgeborne is not responsible for return packages that are lost, delayed, damaged, misdelivered, or refused due to incorrect shipping information provided by the customer or carrier-related issues.
11. Order Cancellation
Customers may request order cancellation before the order has been processed, packed, or shipped.
Once an order has been processed or shipped, cancellation may no longer be possible. In that case, the customer may request a return after delivery in accordance with this Return and Exchange Policy.
Ridgeborne reserves the right to cancel an order where necessary due to product unavailability, payment issues, suspected fraud, incorrect pricing, system errors, shipping restrictions, or other reasonable business reasons. If an order is cancelled by Ridgeborne after payment has been received, a refund will be issued to the original payment method.
12. Refused or Undeliverable Packages
If a package is refused, unclaimed, returned to sender, or undeliverable due to incorrect address information, failed delivery attempts, unpaid customs fees, or customer refusal, Ridgeborne may deduct related shipping costs, return fees, customs fees, handling fees, or other carrier charges from any applicable refund, unless prohibited by law.
Customers are responsible for providing accurate shipping information and for receiving the package in accordance with carrier requirements.
13. Abuse of Return Policy
Ridgeborne reserves the right to refuse returns, exchanges, refunds, or future orders where there is evidence of return abuse, fraud, excessive return activity, policy misuse, chargeback misuse, or violation of website terms.
Such decisions will be made based on order history, return history, account activity, and other relevant information.
14. Legal Rights
This Return and Exchange Policy does not limit any non-waivable rights customers may have under applicable consumer protection laws.
Where applicable law provides customers with rights that are different from or more favorable than this policy, Ridgeborne will comply with such legal requirements.
15. Updates to This Policy
Ridgeborne may update this Return and Exchange Policy from time to time to reflect changes in business operations, logistics procedures, payment processing, legal requirements, or customer service practices.
The updated policy will be posted on the Ridgeborne website. The version of the policy in effect at the time of purchase will generally apply to that order, unless otherwise required by law.
